Taylor family at Ennochie

According to the Lists of Inhabitants available for Birse the family of WILLIAM TAYLOR and JANET WILSON are recorded from 1794.  They "disappear" from the listing in 1819. No marriage record has located to date and only the baptisms for 2 children are recorded in the registers:    

 

March 18 1781:  William Taylor in the Ennachie a son named William.  Witnesses the congregation.

September 28 1783:  William Taylor in the Ennachie a son named John.  Witnesses the congregation.

 

WILLIAM TAYLOR and JANET WILSON were not recorded on earlier lists which may mean they were living outside the parish at this time.  WILLIAM, born 1781, is there in 1792 and in a grouping which includes DAVID TAYLOR (9) and AGNESS GILLENDERS (7).  These may be his grandparents.  (Remember on this listing ages are given in decades)

John Taylor stone dyker and married to Christian Knox died May 22nd 1861 at Drumhead in the Parish of Birse.  He was aged 80 years of age.  Parents are given as William Taylor, crofter (decd) and Janet Taylor m.s. Wilson (decd).  Informant on the certificate was his son Alexander.  (Birse #9)

 

Christian Knox died 1866.  Civil registration death index states she was 67 years of age and her mother's name was Brand.  (Old Machar #518)
